Mission

Guided by our Blessed Mother, Saint Mary Academy is a Catholic faith community that educates children in mind, body and spirit. We strive to inspire our students to honor God, love learning and serve others.

History

With the merger of two earlier Catholic schools, Sacred Heart School for girls and Saint Joseph School for boys, Saint Mary Academy was established in Dover in 1912 under the direction of the Sisters of Mercy. Until the mid-1960s, the school building also housed Saint Mary Academy High School for Girls. The school campus expanded in the 1990s with the construction of Mercy Hall to provide a gymnasium, cafeteria and additional classroom space, and with the opening of our Early Childhood Education Center on Locust Street. Today Saint Mary Academy serves nearly 300 students of all faith denominations from Dover and surrounding communities in New Hampshire and southern Maine.

Saint Mary Academy is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Saint Mary Academy Self Study 2015
